At least I got to watch the last five minutes in peace...heh... |

| Jeopardy vs. Wheel of Torture...errr Fortune |

Ok, before I get to what I want to post about....I'll post a word of warning to everyone...if you are at the laundry mat alone and Jeopardy is on the television and you know the questions to the answers and decide to yell them out as if you were at home...people will give you very strange looks and then move away from you...of course most of the people in there were all speaking spanish so they probably thought I was nuts just yelling things...Anyway...
The winner on Jeopardy only won about $20,000 today. Although the winner can continue playing until he/she loses, the odds of winning a lot of money are pretty bleak. Jeopardy is a game of knowledge and one must know a lot of stuff about a lot of things and have a quick response time to succeed in winning.
Now take Wheel of Fortune or as I refer to it "Wheel of Torture". It's Best Friends Week and instead of one idiot you get two. The puzzles were easy...the people guessed wrong letters and instead of being in awe of the winner (like on Jeopardy) you get mad cause eventually after you've screamed at them (getting more weird looks from fellow laundrymat goers in the process) someone wins. The prizes have higher value and all teams get to keep their winnings unlike on Jeopardy where the poor sucker finishing third gets a box of laundry detergent or something equally crappy. The two annoying girls who won were probably a little younger than me...and won $20,000 in cash and prizes including 2 trips..and then won $100,000 in the final round.
What is wrong with Merv Griffin? At the very least let all the players on Jeopardy keep their winnings and increase the monetary value placed on the answers. And what is wrong with people trying out for Jeopardy? I'm sure they would kick ass at Wheel of Torture. Of course I suppose it all comes down to the bragging rights...afterall it's much cooler to be a Jeopardy champion than a Wheel of Fortune winner. |
